Dinner and Supper
April 8th 2009 23:51
Chicken and selected vegetables, various other wondrous things, a wok, rice and a microwave. Dinner! Quick, healthy, yummalicious and cleaned up by all with no complaints.
Husband, teenage son and self fed, quickly enough that I could go out to help put on supper at the bowling club. My life is now complete!
The selected vegetable were red capsicum, onion and mushrooms, the chicken was breast fillet, sliced up. Various wondrous things, hmm, they were honey, light soy, chicken stock powder, olive oil. There may have been something else, it was a late night last night.
At the Mallala Bowling Club I just did what I was told - butter this many slices of bread, put cheese on that many, pineapple on that many, put those cut up tomatoes on the ham on those sandwiches, put pickles on those.
And then, put them out on the table after some time, some bowls happening outside, put the cakes on plates, cover with wrap, speeches made, approaching serving time, put out the pastries, and go! The Feeding Frenzy commences!
The Final of the Night Owls season last night, the speeches, the food, the community spirit, the thanks to the ladies in the kitchen! It was fun, but I got home wayyy after my bedtime. I got a medium easter egg and a rabbit though, and a tiny egg as well, so that's good. I'll give them to hubby and son, and have the tiny one myself later today.
And I helped out by making sure the cakes tasted OK (only ate a few tiny little things, honest). It pays to volunteer.
