My lovely new kitchen

June 29th 2009 03:35
old kitchen
yuck

my old kitchen is now a handful of ashes and and small pile of old junk.

new kitchen
shiny bright and lovely

my new kitchen is a place I love to be in, love to keep clean, a place where I feel whole. I didn't realise how depressed my old kitchen made me until I had my new kitchen installed.

The fluoro lights make a difference, the abundant benchtop space makes a difference. The fact that the mice can't get onto my cupboards, just scamper and sneak next to my cupboards makes a difference.

Later today I will make my first batch of scones in my lovely kitchen and life will be as good as it can be. Thank you to you all, thanks to my brother who gave me his old kitchen to become my new kitchen.

Thank you to my mother who held my kitchen in her barn for so long, while I tried to organise someone to put it in. Thank you to Luke and ferret who delivered my kitchen. Thank you to Steve, who installed my kitchen, and to Mick and Trevor who did their bit too.

And a big thank you to my lovely husband Graham who helped install the kitchen, and who loves the kitchen too.

I know the picture of my lovely new kitchen looks untidy, but it is an untidy that is super quick to fix. My kitchen today is almost like it's in a show home. The dishes are almost all done.

Almost everything is put away, off the benchtop, and it is so nice. I haven't caught a mouse for two days, the trap is there waiting though.

I love being in my kitchen!

Wow your new kitchen looks great. I wish I could re-do mine, but I'm only renting so I don't know what the landlord would think.

Can you post me some scones? With cream and jam of course.

Sorry Aimee, I don't do scones. If you go back and look at my stuff, you'll see how fixated I am with muffins.

I just love them. Savoury, sweet, muffins are a yummy way to eat veggies or fruit.

Isn't that weird, I don't know why I typed scones instead of muffins. The brain is an amazing thing, but sometimes is goes a bit screwy.

Must have been a senior moment. You just wait until you get old sweetheart. It gets a bit scary sometimes.

Don't worry, I'm not that far behind you Carolyn.

I am so jealous, Carolyn. My kitchen is terrible. I have broken doors all over the place. And then the door to the pantry just fell off the hinges the other day. I would love a new kitchen.

Samaritan, I was so lucky that my little brother loves his big sister and took pity on me when he had a new kitchen put in. His old kitchen was fine, but his wife wanted a new one, and Clare always gets what she wants!

So my new kitchen is not brand new, but it is wonderful. I made my first batch of muffins today, and the oven did its job beautifully well.

It did take 23 years of hating my kitchen to get this new kitchen. I feel I definitely deserve this. Mixer tap, dual sink! It's not heaven, but it feels pretty bloody good!

Of course I took your suggestion Morgan. You're my online whizzo girl. You make money on Orble! That's got to be something to look up to.

I dream of the day when I might make it to the magical $100 and achieve payout. I'm not even really sure how much I've made with adsense, it's all too confusing for this poor little country girl.
