New kitchens need new stuff!
March 27th 2009 04:17
If my kitchen ever actually happens, I’m going to have to buy some new things to go in and on the new cupboards. And because I know it’s going to cost us more to get the kitchen than we’d first thought, we’re going to have to buy any new things cheaply.
I don’t know for sure that is is going to cost us more than we’d thought. It’s just one of those laws of home finance. Things always cost more. It’s as simple as that.
I don’t want rubbishy things with, so I’m not prepared to buy any new things. And we live in the country, so getting things without having to drive all the way into the city would be good. A friend told me about this website the other day, where you can get heaps of stuff at really good prices. It’s called ShopWiki, and it has everything that is available on the internet. And that’s everything, not just the things you’ll find on a google search, where the first things that show up and the ads that have been paid for.
So anyway, when I start looking for new stuff, like food processors, hand mixers and other kitchen appliances I know where I’m going to start looking first, I’ll start with ShopWiki.
I just wish it was that easy to get the guy who's supposed to be putting our kitchen in organised!

Who is doing your Kitchen? Have you settled on a design yet, or signed a contract?
There's a heap of places that do affordable flat-pack kitchens, if you or your hubby are the handy type.
Also, when it comes to big ticket appliances like ovens, cook tops etc, it's been my experience that most of the online retailers cost about the same, if not more than there real-world counterparts.
If you want any help, let me know... I've got a Dip in Interior Design which does come in handy sometimes hehe

I've lived with this kitchen since 1988, Me and the mice can put up with it for a bit longer.
