Sausages for tea tonight

March 18th 2009 00:15
I looked in the freezer this morning, and saw lots of sausages, and not a lot else. So, sausages for tea tonight. I usually grill them and we eat them in hot dog rolls or in wraps. This time I'm going to do something different.

This time, I going to do a pasta spinach sausage bake, if I can find a recipe that seems suitable. I know my son will say yuck, so I won't ask him - he's 15 he'll eat it. My husband might not think it sounds good, so I'm not going to tell him. I'm just going to cook it and serve it up.

I might buy something today at the shops when I go out, something I know they will both like, that way whatever I cook will be acceptable. Or if it's not, at least they've had something nice as well as something they didn't like much.

Sometimes I think it would be nice to be able to hand over the cooking duties. But then I think about how much fun I have cooking, and how much more I know about nutrition compared to the blokes in the house, and I realise cooking is going to be my job mainly, out of the three of us in the house.

If/when I ever get a proper job again, that might change, but for now, I'm the cook.

We had yummy sausages the other night - rabbit sausages, made by a local rabbit farming company, Bushmins. They do yummy rabbit products.

Hi Carolyn, can't go wrong with sausages - yummy and quick and easy to make. I usually make mine with caramelised onions and garlic mashed potatoes. Yum!

I love caramelised onions, hate mashed potatoes - I like garlic though. I might change my mind on what we're having - there's no penne pasta in the house. Wedges with garlic and spices is more likely.

I bought three garlic and cheese bagels (one each) that might be all the accompanient the sausages need, maybe the caramelised onions to go with them. Thanks for that!
