Tea last night? Yum

Yesterday I went to the butchers at Dublin (South Australia, not Ireland!). Gerry's Meats have lovely meat, I was looking forward to stocking up - we've got someone staying with us for a week, so I really need some more food and ideas. Also, my vet told me the teeth of my dog which has just had an operation, were terrible - I need to feed my dogs bones. Bones=Butchers
I pulled up outside Gerry's and looked at the sign next to the front door - it read 'Closed Tues, Wed, Thurs, open Fri. I hope in my heart and my purse in my hand, I got out of the car anyway - the door was open, surely they weren't really closed?
They were really closed. They were going to be moving to the building next door which used to be a greengrocer's shop. Friday, come back Friday. I said thanks, and got back in my car.
Friday didn't help me with tea that night. The next closest butcher was about 30 km away, but that was what I did, I drove to Two Wells. There is a supermarket at Mallala which is closer, but they wouldn't have the bones I needed.
I got to the butchers, asked for bones (got 2 bags - should do them for a week or so), then looked at what else they had. They had lots, of course, but I decided on honey & soy chicken. It was what looked like thigh fillets, marinated in obviously honey and soy. The woman who served me suggested cooking in frypan, or in the oven.
Baked in the oven for 30 minutes, served with wedges (also baked) with a side dish of dates, mushroom, turkey bacon, cauliflower, spring onions, sauteed. Yum, even 14 year old son ate it without complaint - he doesn't like cauliflower.
The dogs loved their bones, we loved our tea, but I still need to get meat and other supplies for when Helen arrives. She's bringing 5 dogs with her, all the way from New South Wales. It's nearly Adelaide Royal Show time and she's showing there. We are too - we've got our two youngest Pharaoh Hounds entered.
We've never actually had someone stay with us before, well, not adults anyway, just Jakes's friend staying over for a night's sleepover. It's going to be interesting.
