Savoury not Sweet

Success, muffins with absolutely no smoke at all! I love a challenge. What did my fridge have in it that it had never had in it before? Semi-dried tomatoes! That's what.
I've often thought about buying them, but it seemed too decadent or something. Not my kind of thing to do, it was for dreaming of doing, one day... That day came earlier than I had ever dreamed, thanks to my lovely husband. He just up and bought some semi-dried tomatoes! Suddenly, there they were in the fridge.
I made sweet muffins last time, so it seemed like a good thing to give savoury a go. A quick look in one of my muffin books, and there they were, tomato and basil muffins. I read the recipe, switched on the oven and got mixing.
I'm a creative person, so I didn't follow the recipe slavishly. No basil at all, majoram and oregano instead. And no salt, but some stock powder instead. The rest was basically the same. And I hope I've learnt my lesson with turning the oven off. Today, when the buzzer sounded and I gave the muffins a little more time, I turned the oven off!
There was enough heat in the oven to finish them off nicely, with no fear of those muffins from hell happening again. Viola, I'm a muffin maestro!
