How to lose that weight
March 8th 2009 09:14
Get in touch with your body. Ask your tummy questions and don't let your head answer the question. Your head tells fibs sometimes, if you've got problems with excess weight.
I lost the fifteen kilos I was desperate to lose by listening to my body, not my lying brain. Now, I only eat when I'm hungry and if I think I'm hungry I might have a drink of water and then wait a while.
Other tips - don't have high fat nibbles in the house. You just know if things aren't going well for you, you're more likely to comfort yourself with something yummy to cheer yourself. I know I did. Now, I cheer myself up with a new item of clothing. I'm going to have to go through my cupboard again soon, chuck out my old clothes that are too baggy, and put away my new clothes. It was so exciting when I could finally fit into a lovely pair of pants I bought a year ago.
They didn't look like I would ever fit into them, but now, well they look pretty good on my if I do say so myself!
And drinking alcohol can get in the way of the best of intentions. Stay off it if you can, and if you don't and you eat too much one night, it's not the end of the world. Just eat less the next day. Even it out, and you'll find you can still eat yummy things and lose weight as well.
Anyway, try my tips, stop listing to your head and ask your body instead. You'll be happy you did. It won't happen overnight, but it will happen.
