What the vet said (LINK)

Well, our little Schnauzer puppy has a clean bill of health now. We saw our vet yesterday and Jenne shows no sign of lameness, the lump on her back is gone and her eyes and lips are no longer puffy. She's not a sad puppy now, she's a go, go, go happy puppy!
She's outside now in the puppy run with her brother Jeebers and they're not entriely happy. I can hear one of them barking a little bit. There are three of our Pharaoh Hounds on the other side of the fence and Rangler, our old Schnauzer (puppies' aunty) is keeping watch, as schnauzers do.
Puppies' mum Nena is inside with me and with La De, our adolescent Pharaoh Hound. They're both fast asleep in a dog crate together next to me.
The whole house smells lovely at the moment - I've made blueberry muffins and they're sitting on the stove top, cooling. It's good that the house smells good today, because when Jenne & I got home from the vet yesterday it smelt very bad - I opened the front door and smoke poured out!
Note to everyone - if you're going to make stock, turn the hotplate off if you go out, unless there's someone home to keep watch. I should know that lesson, but...
I had to throw away the chicken bones out, but the saucepan isn't wrecked - it just looks like a saucepan of someone who cooks a lot - good cooks don't have sparkling clean saucepans, unless they're obsessively clean, which anyone who knows me can attest isn't me!
It hurt to through away the bones, but they were too blackened to be any good. We very rarely through away food in our household - that's what dogs are for - to eat leftovers and failed experiments. If you love to use your creative skill when you cook, sometimes it just doesn't go right - the dogs are always there, and you're learning all the time. Creative means sometimes exquisite!
