What to write about? What I ate last night. that's what!

August 10th 2008 23:10
I'm hoping to inspire myself and others by writing about what I ate for dinner the previous night. Some recipes may follow, some lifestyle tips, some whinges about various domestic issues, who knows. It's the sitting down and starting that gets the words flowing, not sitting and thinking. I find just sitting at the keyboard and typing away can get it all going. My brain starts up and my fingers struggle to follow.

So, what did I have for tea last night? Well, I'm embarrassed to say I had nothing for tea last night. Did I say embarrassed? Yes embarrassed. Because you're meant to eat three meals a day, aren't you? That's the healthy way to eat - never skip meals, never, never, never!

But I say that's rubbish. The healthy way is to eat when you are hungry, and stop eating just before you've filled your tummy. The food shovelling goes faster than the brain realising you are full, so if you eat until you feel full, you've probably eaten more than you need. Anyway the upshot of that is, I didn't feel hungry at all last night., so I didn't have tea. Instead I remained nearly asleep on the sofa while husband and son ate.

I'd had more than enough to eat at lunch, so I digested that instead of stuffing myself with more. I have to admit, I was also getting over having too much red wine in the afternoon as well - Hubby was the designated driver, so we decided I could get a little tiddly - much to my son's disgust - he's nearly fifteen and he's very disapproving of all sorts of foibles his parents display. I say having foibles and irritating is my payback for carrying him as he was growing into a human being!

Tonight is Monday night, so I'll probably have a chicken and cheese pie from David Jones. I don't need to blog that, because I've already covered that previously. Tomorrow night could well be take-away for tea, which I think is going to be Barnacle Bills. Unless you're from South Australia you might not have heard of them, but they do seafood. I don't do seafood, it makes me puke, but BB's do nice crumbed chicken, so that's me catered for.
